Tremendous courage is required to share your story. The writer has no control over how their tale will be received by their audience. But most are compelled to put it out there regardless. During the process, I always remind myself to be brave and approach the edge of the cliff of possibilities. Then not walk, but take a running leap. Because staying safe on the ground is no longer an option.
As a child, I created silly little stories, and being a writer was my first career choice. Growing up this changed to a lawyer, working for the diplomatic corps, and finally, I landed on teaching. With each transformation, my writing slipped further away, but my love of stories continued to develop. Like many, during COVID-19, I used it as an opportunity. Hitting the keyboard, my stories began to flow, and I allowed my usually planning self to write with no outline, plan, or rules. The rush of freedom, joy, and creativity amazed me. It was time to return to the beginning. Back to writing my silly little stories, except they are not so little and have more polish now.

Each week the topics change, but your chair is always waiting. The second season began the popular Story Share series, in which other authors showcase their tales, all centered around a varying theme. 2023 earned Jacqui Just Chatters the Best Podcast award from WDIV, the Detroit area NBC’s television affiliate. In the same year, the series was one of the final five nominees for the Quill Podcast Award in two categories (Best Podcast & Best Society & Culture Podcast).
